Hold the orb or hold your space bar and say what you need. The ring moves with your voice while you speak and with Vilo's while it answers, so you can tell it is listening without looking at it.
Your speech is turned into text by a model running on your own machine. The audio never leaves it and never gets saved. There is a floating orb too, so you can ask something without leaving whatever you were working on.
The realistic voice runs locally as well. It uses your GPU if you have one.

It reads your school account where it already is
Vilo connects to Google Calendar and Google Classroom to show your schedule, classes, assignments, deadlines and grades. Google data is processed locally on your computer. It is never sold and never used for advertising.

Google Drive, and who you are
This is the narrowest Drive permission Google offers. It covers only the files Vilo creates or that you open with it. Signing in also shows which account is connected so you can tell your school one from your personal one.

Vilo does not ship with a model. Point it at one.
An OpenRouter key takes about a minute and installs nothing. Ollama runs on your own machine for free. On a recent Mac you can use Apple's built in model and need neither. Switching happens straight away with no restart.
Your keys are encrypted by your own machine and only ever go to the provider you picked. Whatever you send a hosted model goes to that company under their terms. Choose Ollama or Apple and nothing leaves your computer at all.
